Trend Report: Sumptuous Leather

I wouldn't recommend sporting a leather getup in July, but it's perfect for fall/winter. Leather shoes, leather skirts, leather bags, leather shirts-- I'll take one of each please.

Apartment Snippets

My sister snagged my kitchen table for me at a garage sale ($10!). It was a grubby, grey color so my husband and I painted it this funky avocado green, and stenciled this design in the middle. The trouble was that we couldn't find a pre-made stencil that we liked, so I found a picture of a mirror that had the design I wanted, and my dear husband did the tedious work of carefully cutting out a stencil from the picture I found.

May the force be with you.

I am ashamed to admit that up until a week or so ago I had never watched the original three Star Wars movies. I liked a lot of things about them (including what a cute little puppet Yoda is), but mostly I spent the span of the three movies coveting Han Solo's fantastic boots. And thus, today's style collage is brought to you by a galaxy far, far away...

Vintage Classification Posters

When I was a kid I had a few of these vintage Smokey the Bear posters hanging on my bedroom wall. There are fifteen total in the collection including snakes, reptiles, and fish, but I was all about the butterflies, wildflowers, and edible plants. I used to practice memorizing the edible plants poster, and then I'd go out into our yard and the nearby forest to try to identify what was safe to eat (you know, just in case).
I'm sad to say that I have no idea where those posters ended up (I think they got lost in a move) but I am set on getting my paws on some more-- they'd be rad for a kids room, or if you're feeling a little bohemian, your living room.
